The plenary sessions on June 30th will involve the following speakers:
Eva Revilla. Policy officer, DG GROW (European Commission) Degree in Business Administration and Management and Economics, and Master of Research in Monetary Policy. She is currently responsible for policies supporting industrial clusters, particularly in areas related to the European Green Deal, both in the European Union and internationally, within the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs of the European Commission. Previously, she has worked at EuropeAid as coordinator of development programs for Latin America and as responsible for SME support policies in the EU, with a special focus on the environmental field. | |
Carmen Luisa Sáenz Hernández. Manager for agrifood area, CYTED program Chemist-Pharmacist, graduated in Food Technology and PhD in Pharmacy. She has served as a Professor at the University of Chile and has been a full member of the Chilean Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Currently, she is a lecturer in the Department of Agroindustry and Oenology at the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences of the University of Chile. Her research activity has been linked to the processing, use and obtention of functional ingredients and bioactive compounds from plant species, mainly species with low water requirements. Due to her research experience in the food field, she was elected Manager of the Agrifood Area of CYTED. She has directed numerous national and international research projects, given multiple conferences and carried out outreach activities to transfer technologies to small farmers and entrepreneurs. She counts with many publications, including a a book for FAO of which she is the main author. | |
Vanda Narciso. Coordinator of EEN-Portugal, IAPMEI Agência para a Competitividade e Inovação, I.P. Graduate in Zootechnical Engineering, with more than 25 years of experience in European SME support networks. She currently works as head of the Department for Collective Efficiency, Innovation and Competitiveness of the Agência para a Competitividade e Inovação (IAPMEI), which aims at streamlining, accompanying, and monitoring the activity of competitiveness clusters. She is also the national coordinator of the Enterprise Europe Network consortium in Portugal. | |
José Manuel Lorenzo. Head of Research, Centro Tecnológico de la Carne PhD in Food Science and Technology and world's leading meat expert. He has extensive research experience focused on the improvement and characterization of meat products, which he develops as head of the Product Technology, Processes and Food Packaging division at the Galician Meat Technology Center. Additionally, he is an associate professor at the University of Vigo. | |
Jorge Welti Chanes. Professor-Researcher, Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey He is currently academic dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences of the Tecnológico de Monterrey. His academic work focuses on process engineering, water activity, minimal fruit processing, emerging technologies (high hydrostatic pressures and pulsed electric fields) and development of technologies for the preservation of food with social impact. He has published 17 books and has more than 270 scientific articles. Moreover, he has been an advisor to several food companies and is the founder of three technology-based companies. | |
Paulo Silveira. Partner director, Food Tech HUB In 1999 he was selected among the five best executives in Brazil by Gazeta Mercantil, and received the President award -Blockbuster- Best Franchisee Operation in the world. More recently, in 2003 and 2004, he received the Marketing and Sales Awards from the Associação dos Dirigentes de Vendas e Marketing do Brasil. Throughout his professional career he has directed different entities. He is currently the CEO and founder of Food Tech HUB BR. | |
Marta Delgado del Río. Insights & Innovation Analyst, Innova Market Insights Food Technologist with a master’s degree in Food Innovation Management. She is currently Customer Success Manager and Market Analyst for Southern Europe and Latin America at Innova Market Insights. | |
María Naranjo Crespo. Head of Foods, Wines and Gastronomy, ICEX España Graduated in Law and CCEE and EE and postgraduate in Monetary Economics. María has been a Commercial Technician and State Economist since 1996 and she has carried out her career in different Departments of the Ministry of Economy. Between 2008 and 2014, she was the Director of the President's Cabinet of the National Competition Commission. She has been working at ICEX for more than twenty years, supporting SMEs to internationalize. Since 2017, she has held the position of Head of Foods, Wines and Gastronomy. |
